Creating for Christ

I am part of a Facebook group, Creating for Christ, that was organized by 2 US Stampin' Up! demonstrators, Julie Salva and Ronda Wade.  While many of the group's members are Stampin' Up! demonstrators, it is open to anyone;  I hope you'll consider joining us.

The 'about' section explains this:

God designed us to be CREATIVE! So, Ronda and Julie are excited to be creative and honor and serve God as we do! As long time friends who both live our lives for God, we know that there are many of you out there who love to do the same things! So, this non-denominational group will encourage, pray, grow, and share with one another! We're about three things....pointing people to Jesus, praying and growing together, and using our gift of creating to honor God!! Thank you for joining us! We're glad you're here!

Some of the activities offered are:  weekly prayer requests, Bible Study, a monthly scripture writing plan, card showers, and of course paper crafting using Stampin' Up! products.  Here's a video where Julie Salva explains events the group sponsors.

Julie's Video about the group.

In that video, Julie says the demos can share the monthly PDF's that Ronda creates, but we can't sell them.  I thought you'd enjoy some inspiration from another demo, for a change.

I was drawn to the July projects, as I love the stamp set they used, Hope & Prayer.  It was one of the first stamp sets I purchased from the current annual catalog (AC).  You'll find it on page 71.  I don't have all the products they used for the cards, so I thought I'd share what I used instead.

July 2022 Creating for Christ Cards  See Ronda's original cards with products used and instructions in this pdf.

They used the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes that were part of the Sale-a-bration offering during July-August 2022.  They sold out in the North America in a matter of weeks. I use cardstock instead and changed the colors.  Several cards use the Silver & Gold 6" X 6" Specialty Paper that is another Sale-a-bration item and is available through August 31, 2022.

I used Polished Pink cardstock here, and I added a fun detail to my vellum by scoring twice around the edge using the scoring blade in my trimmer.

This one is Soft Succulent cardstock with coordinating
1/2" Satin Shimmer Ribbon (AC 146).  I love our color coordination!

I swapped out the Glimmer Specialty Paper (July-December page 31) on several cards with the Gold & Rose Gold 6"X6" Metallic Specialty Paper (AC 139).

I don't often add splatters, just because I don't think of it.  I think it is the finishing touch.

Here I used the Seasonal Labels dies for my cardstock layer (AC174).

Since I used such a dark card base (Evening Evergreen), I added a vellum layer to soften the look.  I embossed the vellum using the Fern 3D folder (AC 176).

And finally, I didn't have the Scalloped Contours dies, so I embossed the Night of Navy cardstock using the Seashells 3D embossing folder, in keeping with the nautical theme of the card.

I hope by sharing how I modified some lovely cards using products I already own, you'll be able to use what you have to create your own versions of these cards.

Happy Stampin'!
