Fun Fold - Bridge or Spanner Card

Fun fold cards can be difficult to photograph to get the full effect.  Here I'm sharing a video of my completed card so you can understand the fun fold part.  Then I have the directions so you can make one, too!  I've even included a link to my Facebook live video (which is now on YouTube) where I made this cute gnome card.

My favorite fun folds are those where we add an extra score line or cut to create something different.  This is one of those.  You add 2 cuts to a basic card base to add interest to your card.

Here's the card I made in my Facebook Live on February 20th.  I love the Friendly Gnomes stamp set.  The gnomes are adorable.  The sentiment "Wishing you the most magical of birthdays" is so fitting.  But my favorite part of the card is the bird I stamped on the balloon!

Once you have the card base, plan on adding a piece across the front of your card that 'spans' or 'bridges' the center part.  Be careful not to adhere your card closed.  In the video, I stamp card stock and adhere it to the sides before I adhere the bridge which is an embossed piece of card stock.

I hope you try a spanner card next time you craft!  Happy Stampin'!
