Patchwork Pieces Dies

During my weekly video on May 22, 2023, I used the Patchwork Pieces dies and talked about a few ideas I had for using them.  Now that I've made a few cards using them, I am getting better at lining up the small pieces.  Be patient with yourself, too.

Let's start with the cards I completed during my video.  When I want my focal point to be my die cut background, I like to keep the additional pieces to a minimum, not using too many embellishments or ribbon.  There first few cards were made with the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP).

It would be great to use these dies with all the Designer Series Paper that will be on sale during the month of June 2023.  So many options!

When using the Wanted to Say dies, don't forget to use an adhesive sheet!!

Here's that video, in case you missed it.

This is the piece I put together during my video.  I do find the die easiest to piece together when butting up each piece.  I embossed this with the Painted Texture 3D folder.  The tag and hole embellishment are in the Tailor Made Tags Dies.  My layers are Azure Afternoon and Night of Navy.

I die cut 3 pieces of Bright & Beautiful DSP for my these cards, and I mixed and matched the 3 patterns.  Here I adhered them a bit randomly, similar to the card on page 55 of the 2023-2024 annual catalog.

For my embossing on this card, I use a retired embossing folder (Gingham) that is similar to the crosshatch design in the Online Exclusives, Basics 3D Embossing folders.

For this card, I embossed the finished piece with a retired floral embossing folder, Pretty Flowers.  The Countryside Blossoms would work, too.  Adhering the pieces equal distance does work with this die, as I wondered about during my video.  Again, be patient and take your time as you put this together.

I hesitated to include these final 2 cards; they aren't my best work.  I hope that by including them you'll see that I, too, need to practice certain techniques and my cards are always perfect.

I have more ideas for using the starburst die.  How about a variety of bright colors with one for each section?!  I think that would make a fun card.  Or try using just a portion of the starburst die.  I noticed that it is a repeated pattern with the 4 corners all being the same.  I plan on using only half of the die in a card soon.

Happy Stampin' and die cutting'!
