Simple Window Cards

We were shown this card idea during our online convention in November (2023).  To create your window on the front of your card use a punch or die to create an opening.  Using that same punch or die, create the shape in patterned paper (your own or pre-printed!) or some other paper.  See my cards below for lots of ideas!  This layout really ignited my creativity!  Well done, Stampin' Up!!

I made a few cards in this video.  You cans see the close-up photos of those finished cards below.

The strips for my inside and outside sentiments are scraps from trimming cardstock for layering.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from Let's Go Fishing found in the 2022-2023 annual catalog.  The sentiments are from Heartfelt Hexagon, Quiet Meadow and Hope You Know stamp sets.  The sprig can be found in the Timeless Arrangements stamp set.

I made this one in the video.  I added the balloons afterwards.  The front sentiment, balloons, and DSP are in the Bright & Beautiful suite in the 2022-2023 annual catalog.  The "Happy Birthday" inside is in the Go To Greetings stamp set.  My colors are Bubble Bath and Berry Burst.

This next one is very much like my first card, but I played around with cardstock colors, and added a layer inside my card.

How about a retirement card?!  These fish and bobber are so fun to create!  You'll find them in the Let's Go Fishing suite in the 2022-2023 annual catalog.  All the stamps set are in the Gone Fishing stamp set.

In the video, I mentioned embossing the card front.  Here are a few cards to get us started!

This spray is one of the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder 2-pack.  I used a sponge dauber to add a touch of Lost Lagoon ink to the embossed image.

My Congratulations stamp, gems, and ribbon are all long retired, but the Mr. & Mrs. stamp and the border can be found in the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set.

How about an all-over embossing?  Again, I added Lost Lagoon and Petal Pink ink to the embossed piece.  The "Happy Anniversary" stamp is in Ringed with Nature.

I saved my favorite for last!  We have a brayer returning to our offering in January 2024, so I pulled out my old one.  Here, I added Lost Lagoon ink t my embossing folder before running it through my Cut & Emboss Machine.  I used Stylish Shapes for both my opening and the banner.  I left the inside without a sentiment, thinking it could be used to celebrate a wedding or an anniversary.

Notice my envelope!  I used the embossing folder as a stamp!  I inked the embossing folder with Lost Lagoon ink and a brayer.  I set my envelope flap on the inked surface and burnished the flap.  Now my card and envelope coordinate perfectly!

I hope I've sparked your creativity and you give this card layout a try soon!
