Birthday Card(s) for April 2024

 In this week's video, I stamped my own patterned paper and made 4 cards with it.  A link to the YouTube video is below, as are the 4 cards I made.  For this month's birthday card(S), I followed that same process and made 3 masculine birthday cards and 1 thank you card (for Stampin' Up!'s monthly challenge).


#SimpleStamping as defined by Stamin' Up! is creating with only stamps, ink and paper.  They challenge demonstrators to share projects on public sites, so I am!  As part of their challenge, they give us a theme and the opportunity to include one other item, like Designer Series Paper (DSP), bling or ribbon.  Or they may suggest we use a specific category of product, like something retiring or a Sale-a-bration item during that promotion.  For April 2024 our challenge is:

  • Theme: Thank You
  • Supplies: Stamps, ink, paper and favorite retiring item


For this month's birthday cards, I used a number of retiring products:  Earthen Elegance DSP, Celebrate with Tags stamp set, Botanical Layers stamp set, Earthen Textures stamp set and Boho Blue Textured Ribbon.






Here are some 'during' photos.  First the 6" X 7" stamped piece. 

Knowing I wanted to made a thank you card, I made sure not to stamp "Happy Birthday" in the upper right hand corner.  I stamped on Smoky Slate cardstock, so it looks dark in this photo.



and the inside layers and the envelopes.  Again, the inside layers are Smoky Slate so they look kind of dark in the photo.

Just because we're doing #SimpleStamping, doesn't mean they have to be boring or simple cards.  Add layers, cut your cardstock, use a card sketch, etc.  I considered fussy cutting around my sentiment, but decided not to in the end.

Notice the tiny piece of Boho Blue Textured Ribbon in this card?  It could have been just a scrap.

The retiring products I used are the Petal Park, Ringed in Nature and Go To Greetings stamp sets.  As well as the Parakeet Party cardstock and ribbon.
