I'm learning to work smarter, not harder. These were the birthday cards I made for Veronica (our daughter) and Ayla (our son, Thomas' girlfriend) last month. I used a few retired products, which I'll list below. Maybe you have them in your stash, too!
For Veronica's card I followed the instructions for the Diagonal Double Pocket Card HERE using Country Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP).
If you like to know the colors used (I'm always wondering myself when I look at cards):
Cardstock: Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink and Smoky Slate
Other Products used: Elegant Edge tag topper punch, baker's twine essentials, Gray Granite 2-tone, Stylish Shapes dies.
Stamps: You are remarkable, Bright borders (Last Chance product), Sunrise Sailing, With you in Mind
For Ayla's card I used some handmade paper that I actually received from Ayla's mom! Thank you, Kathy, for bringing me some of your beautiful papers! I'm inspired to give paper making a try myself.
Other products I used on Ayla's card:
Cardstock: Fresh Freesia and Basic White (Thomas told me light purple was her favorite color.)
Stamps: Gallery Blooms (bundle), Loveliest Tree (sentiment)
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather
Other: Block E (for the large flower inside her card. I was going to use the flower on the front, but it was too big, so I put it inside instead of saving it for another project.) I usually don't include blocks in my list of products used, but block E is one of those things you may not have yet.
The retired products I used are the Hodgepodge Hardware in antique brass and aged copper, vellum, a tag topper punch, Crochet Trim Victoria 5/8", some Misty Moonlight ribbon, a You Are Loved stamp, and an old embossing folder.
I really appreciate when I have time to create a card for a specific person for a specific event. I'll soon post the birthday card I made for my dad's 90th! birthday.
Happy stampin'!, Sue
