Z-Fold Card with 3 Layered Panels

This is the card I shared in my video on February 9, 2026.  I think I'll want to make it again, so here on my blog is the best place to keep the dimensions and directions to create it.  I hope you find it helpful, too.  To find it again search here on my website for 'fun fold'.  You'll see any labels I use to identify a blog post, at the bottom of the post.

There are so many options for this card!  Our packs of Designer Series Paper are perfect for this one.  With several patterns that all coordinate, you'll have lots of options for your layers.  Of course, if you don't have coordinating papers, you can always stamp your layers instead.  That way you'll have exactly the colors you want on your card.

My 3-panel card as shown in the video.  I added patterned paper to the envelope flap to make a complete set.

I finished this card with die cuts, a label and a little bling.

Here I simply added a banner with a sentiment and some gems, letting the patterned paper be my focal point.

I had fun finding 3 different star stamps for this one!  You know stamping is my favorite part of this hobby.  I'm sure I'll be creating more cards with stamped panels.  Another idea I want to try is having 3 different colored panels, with stamped or patterned paper to coordinate with each.  I'll try to remember to update this post when I create that card.

I think this is my favorite of all of these cards!  I love balloons and stamping the panels was quick and easy.  Stamping off for some balloons adds more variation.

This was the original card layout with 5 panels that I found in a pin by Cindy Brumbaugh.  I explain in the video, that I wanted to stabilize the panels and add another layer to each panel.  When doing this the patterned paper would be quite narrow, so I reworked the measurements to my 3-panel card as outlined above.

One more idea for us to try is embossing one or more of our panels.  Including texture adds so much to our projects.

Until next time, Happy Stampin'!
