Craft Roulette Episode 118-June 24, 2022

Image
Craft Roulette is a YouTube paper crafting show on Friday nights at 6:30 CT.  Join us sometime! Here's a link to the  Craft Roulette  channel on YouTube.  More information about Craft Roulette, including the list of the 96(!) parameters is here . Each week 4 parameters are chosen by the spin of a wheel.  It's fun to just read though the list of parameters if you need some inspiration!  The host Mary Gunn and a weekly guest then create a project using those 4 parameters during the live show.  Anyone can submit a project using those parameters--just a photo.  The link to CraftRoulette.Live above includes the place to submit your project.  There is also a Facebook group, Craft Roulette Show, where many of us share our submissions.  It's a welcoming group of crafters.  We have a lot of FUNN (a play on Mary, the host's last name)! During the next Friday live show, Mary shares all the projects we have submitted.  This is #8 for me. Here's my submission for Episode 118.

This is my third card using this layout.  I have adjusted the top layer of this card by making it smaller so more of the Designer Series Paper is seen. Sacred Heart Home Decor

Image
I have a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, particularly during the month of June. I've had this home decor piece in mind for a few weeks now. I think a quick explanation might be helpful. The Cross:  It symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice of love for humankind. The Crown of Thorns:  The suffering and agony of the Lord in His Passion and Death. The Flames:  The heart that burns with love for all humanity. The Wound and The Blood:  His side pierced on the Cross and His blood shed for us. I used watercolor paper and a watercolor wash for the heart and flames.  The cross can be found in the  Hope & Prayer stamp set.  My 'crown of thorns' is a die in the Full Basket die set (page 35 in the 2022-2023 annual catalog). It's my prayer that this inspires you.

Angle Easel Cards

Image
My friend Jennifer hosts a monthly virtual Mystery Stamping event. In May she walked us through creating an angle easel card. I made 2 more tonight using her directions. To create your card you'll need (what I used): Cardstock color one 4 ¼ x 11 (Basic Black) Cardstock color two 4 x 4 ¼ (Smoky Slate) Basic White 4 x 4 ¼ (Smoky Slate)   Something to put on the inside to prop up your easel. Score long across the top at 5 ½ and 6 ½  Score from the top corner to the 6 ½ score on the diagonal.  Fold in half at the 5.5" score. To make the card, adhere between the 1" scores to create what's known a bookbinding card. When adhering the front panel, be sure to only add adhesive on the lower triangle so that your card can be propped up. Add dimensionals to a small accent inside your card to hold up the angled piece. For my cards I used the same colors of cardstock, but added ink with a Blending Brush on the hippo card to the striped Specialty Paper. That is a Sale-a-bration

Cards from the Virtual Stampin' Up! demo-only event on June 18, 2022

Image
As I mentioned in a recent newsletter, I attended a Stampin' Up! event on June 18, 2022.  And since I didn't purchase the collection of products they suggested, my projects look very different. They suggested we use the Splendid Day suite on pages 64-65 in the July-December 2022 mini catalog.  Instead, I used the Ringed with Nature bundle on page 62 of the same catalog and the Rings of Love Designer Series Paper on page 7 of the July-August 2022 Sale-a-bration brochure. For Card #1 we used Blends markers to shade light to dark on a Basic White piece of cardstock and layered that over a piece of Designer Series Paper. Card #2, features an embossed background.  I used the new Tree Rings hybrid embossing folder and added color to the Crumb Cake embossed panel using Soft Suede ink and a Blending Brush.  They used the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and added white craft ink to the Calypso Coral embossed panel with a Blending Brush. Card #3 has 4 die cute shapes as our focal

2022-2023 Annual Catalog Party

I hosted a 2022-2023 Annual Catalog Party!  On Friday, 6/3/22 we took a tour of my store, the catalog.   On Saturday, 6/4/22 I used a variety of new products in the catalog to create a few projects during 5 different Facebook live videos.  It's not too late to join the party!  All 6 videos are on my YouTube channel under the 'Catalog Party' playlist, and I've included them below. Catalog Tour Below is a link to the video where Sara Douglass, Stampin' Up!'s CEO, shows us all the Designer Series Paper in the 2022-2023 annual catalog.  If the following link doesn't work, her Facebook page is   Sara Douglass, Stampin' Up! CEO .  She recorded the video on May 17, 2022. Patterned Paper Video by Sara Douglass The other thing I mentioned in my Friday, catalog tour video, were the resources I put together for you.  On my website, I've added a new tab, "Resources".  Check it out when you're done here!
