Fun Fold Blog Hop

Image
I love fun folds, so I had to participate in this blog hop!   I hope you're being inspired by all the fun fold cards.  I found directions for a Center Step Card on SplitCoastStampers.com, but it made a 5-1/2" X 5-1/2" card.  I took their idea and created a card that is a standard A2 card, 5-1/2" X 4-1/4".   If you place your embellishments within the 5-1/2" X 4-1/4" you can use a medium Stampin' Up! envelope for this card. Here's a link to the Split Coast Stamper tutorial:   Center Step Card Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers .  They include pictures and a video.  I'm not quite ready for winter yet, so I made a summer card using the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and coordinating Cabin dies.  Both are available starting 3 August 2021 in the mini catalog.   I am a visual learner, so I made a quick video for you to learn how I cut and scored my card base.  I think I forgot to tell you that I started with an 8-1/2" X 5-1/2" card base. Using Freshly Made Sketch #495 from July 22, 2021

I am often inspired by sketches, so I decided to play along this time.  I saw this sketch on Facebook, but they have a blog that includes lots of samples.  It's a great place for inspiration. For my card I used Pattern Party (the hostess DSP in the annual catalog), Butterfly Brilliance, and a sentiment from the Celebrate with Flowers stamp set. My color choices came directly from the July Paper Pumpkin kit: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Garden Green and Granny Apple Green.  After stamping my butterflies, I did add some Wink of Stella to them.  I'm not sure if you can see that in the photo.  Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems finished the card. Products I used: Butterfly Brilliance Cling Stamp Set [ 155092 ] Brilliant Wings Dies [ 155523 ] Pattern Party 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 Cm) Host Designer Series Paper [ 155426 ] Celebrate With Flowers Cling Stamp Set (English) [ 155059 ] Basic Black 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [ 121

In the Wild Designer Series Paper Cards

These were the cards I made during my Facebook live video on Monday, July 12, 2021.  The video is also available on my YouTube channel. This first one starts with two 3" X 3" squares of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Cut a slit on both pieces at 1-1/2" from the edge to the center of the square.  Intertwine the 2 squares.  Adhere them together in opposite corners.  Fold back 2 flaps and adhere those down.  You should see all 4 sides of the DSP, if you have used two different patterns.  A fun option would be to emboss the square to give the effect of a quilt.   I have layered my 3" X 3" square onto a Evening Evergreen square that is 3-1/4" X 3-1/4" and a Cajun Craze square that is 3-3/8" X 3-13/8".   The sentiment is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.  (I cut apart 'Happy Birthday' and 'you sweet thing'.)  The punches I used are the Label Me Lovely for the sentiment, and the Label Me Fancy from a scrap of the DSP to include a
